After his study in civil engineering at the University of Stuttgart Thomas Kohlhammer graduated in architecture, also at the University of Stuttgart, and simultaneously he gained first experiences in research. After his studies he worked as research and teaching assitant at the Chair of Structural Design, ETH Zurich, first at the Chair of Prof. Dr. Otto Künzle and afterwards at the Chair of Prof. Dr. Joseph Schwartz. As of 2000 Thomas Kohlhammer gained practical experiences in civil engineering offices in Stuttgart and Zurich as part-time works. 2009 he started a doctorate at the ETH Zurich (Prof. Dr. Joseph Schwartz) and also since 2009 he got a lectureship in Structural Design at the Departement of Architecture at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Since 2013 Thomas Kohlhammer works additionally as research fellow at the Chair of Architecture and Digital Fabrication (Prof. Fabio Gramazio, Prof. Matthias Kohler), ETH Zurich. |
